Great show!
This concert was fantastic, .38 Special was phenomenal and completely amazed me. They exceeded my expectations by far. They could have easily headlined the entire show. Brett Michaels was decent... I'm not very familiar with most of his songs but I still enjoyed the performance. His band appears very talented. Skynyrd put on a fantastic show as well, every song was spot on and the band looked like they were having a blast. There were a few segments in the performance paying tribute to past band members, which were handled with grace and respect. At certain points, Ronnie was Johnny---I could hardly distinguish between the two. The concert was incredible. The only downside for me was that Lynyrd Skynyrd performed only two tracks from their recent album being promoted on this tour: Gods and Guns. They stuck to Skynyrd Nation and Gods and Guns. There are several amazing tracks on that album that I would have loved to hear. They also skipped over other newer songs post their accident (The Last Rebel, Berniece, Mad Hatter, for instance) which are also fantastic. It felt like they focused more on their classic hits and didn't prioritize their newer material much. Nonetheless, I'm pleased that I attended the show and had a wonderful time. I'd definitely attend another concert featuring .38 Special and Skynyrd without hesitation.
